Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Meet Alyssa Moreno
Experienced Therapist
Hi, I’m Alyssa, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) #151085 with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. I’ve had the privilege of working with adolescents, teens, and adults from diverse backgrounds, including the LGBTQ+ community, those managing mood disorders, neurodivergent individuals, and those facing the ongoing complexities of chronic illness.
I approach therapy with compassion and a strong belief in the power of healing. Using evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy, I aim to uncover the root causes of your worries and help you develop personalized strategies for healing and growth. Whether you’re seeking clarity, peace, or a renewed sense of confidence, my goal is to help you feel supported, heard and empowered every step of the way.
I’m deeply committed to creating a nurturing, safe space where we can explore your unique challenges together, and I’m here to help you regain control over your life with confidence and clarity.
If you think I might be a good fit for you, I invite you to reach out. Let’s take the first step forward together.

I am supervised by Sara Capella, LMFT #84296
Is Therapy Right for Me?
If you’re questioning whether therapy is the right step for you, or if you’re struggling with feelings that seem difficult to manage on your own, you’re not alone. It can be hard to know when to seek help or where to start, but recognizing that you need support is an important first step toward healing. Therapy isn’t just for crisis moments—it’s a powerful tool for anyone looking to better understand themselves, improve their mental health, and navigate life’s challenges with greater ease.
Here are some signs that therapy might be helpful:
-
Overwhelming stress, anxiety, or sadness that doesn’t seem to go away, even when you try to manage it on your own
-
Difficulty coping with big life changes like a breakup, job loss, or a move
-
Confusion or lack of clarity around your identity, relationships, or life goals
-
Struggling with negative self-talk or feeling stuck in a cycle of worry and self-doubt
-
Challenges in relationships, whether with family, friends, or romantic partners
-
Difficulty finding motivation or feeling disengaged from daily activities
Talk therapy can help in many ways. It provides a safe space where you can freely express yourself without judgment. I work with you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to identify patterns that may be holding you back. Together, we can uncover the root causes of what you’re experiencing and develop strategies to manage those challenges effectively.
Here are some examples of how therapy can support you:
-
Uncovering the underlying causes of your concerns: Often, our worries are linked to deeper patterns or past experiences. Through therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we can break down negative thought cycles and replace them with healthier perspectives.
-
Improving emotional regulation: Therapy helps you learn tools to manage overwhelming emotions like anxiety, sadness, or anger so you can respond more calmly and thoughtfully in difficult situations.
-
Developing healthy coping strategies: Whether you’re managing chronic illness, navigating neurodivergence, or coping with a mental health challenge, therapy provides you with customized approaches that fit your unique needs and lifestyle.
-
Building self-awareness and confidence: Therapy can guide you in reconnecting with your values and goals, helping you regain clarity and confidence in your choices.
As your therapist, I’ll be here to provide consistent support, validation, and encouragement. My approach is to walk alongside you on your journey, offering tools, perspectives, and a listening ear as we work through the issues that matter most to you. Whether you need someone to talk to, strategies for managing symptoms, or guidance on how to take the next step, I’m committed to being a source of strength and clarity for you.
You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Reaching out for therapy is a brave and powerful choice. If you’re ready to explore how therapy can help you live a more fulfilling life, I’d love to hear from you. Together, we can start building the life and mindset you deserve.
